Protecting Civil and Constitutional Rights

We have worked for many centuries as a society to get to where we are now, and Coloradans have no interest in travelling back in time. Civil and constitutional rights are fundamental to the functioning of a democratic society. They protect the individual freedoms and dignity of people, ensuring that governments are held accountable, and citizens are treated fairly. Colorado has much to be proud of, including the recent successful passage of Amendment J and Amendment 79, but we need to be clear eyed about the challenges the next four years will bring, and the imminent federal attacks on our values…

Address the Housing Crisis

Unaffordable housing may be the single most pressing issue facing Denver and other parts of our state. It affects everyone—workers, families, communities of color, young people, seniors. I am committed to providing solutions to our housing crisis, creating a community where all people, regardless of income, can thrive. We need a comprehensive, creative approach to housing that addresses both immediate needs and long-term solutions for everyone who calls this city and state home…

Environmental Sustainability

Our environment is the foundation of everything we do, from the air we breathe to the water we drink, and the land that nourishes us. It’s not just about preserving the beauty of nature; it’s about securing a healthy future for us and generations to come. Climate change, pollution, fossil fuel dependance, and antiquated infrastructure have resulted in real threats to us and placed an unconscionable burden on the future generation. Conversely, environmental sustainability offers numerous benefits for the economy, health, resources, and overall happiness…

Affordable Healthcare

At the heart of a thriving society is access to quality healthcare. As we move forward, it is crucial to prioritize the well-being of every individual, ensuring that everyone—regardless of background or income—has the care they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives. My platform is built on the belief that healthcare is not a privilege but a fundamental human right. It is also key to the functioning of a healthy, vibrant society and economy…

Improving Educational Outcomes

Education is the cornerstone of any thriving society and of our democracy. It empowers individuals, fosters equality, results in innovation, inspires debate, creates culture, and provides opportunities for financial growth. A strong education system ensures that future generations, regardless of their background, have access to the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in life. At the same time, educational opportunities must be accessible to non-traditional learners, ensuring that everybody has equal access to knowledge and skills that will promote stability…

Public Safety and Law Enforcement

Public safety is a critical issue that affects our communities, families, and economy. If we introduce interventions that eliminate the root causes of crime, we will all be safer and we will reduce the significant funds we spend on incarceration. By focusing on risk-prevention and rehabilitation, we can create a safer, more equitable, and just society where the need for law enforcement is a last, not first, resort…

Building a Healthy, Worker-Centered Economy

A place thrives when its people thrive. A worker-centered economy is not just an ideal—it’s the key to unlocking long-term success and sustainability. When we prioritize employees, we invest in a healthier, more vibrant economy for everyone. By ensuring fair wages, job security, and opportunities for skill development, we create a cycle of growth that benefits all—families, neighborhoods, and local businesses alike.  At the same time, we need to support the local businesses that bring a unique flavor and vibrancy to Denver and Colorado, making them desirable and special places to live and raise a family…

Supporting Our Neighbors Against Deportation

Supporting some of our most vulnerable immigrant communities is important for humanitarian, economic, and social reasons. Although we have limited power at the municipal and state level to influence national immigration policies, we can still take actions here to support our neighbors, many of whom have worked and lived among us for years, if not decades…
